Following an invitation from the British Government, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa attended a dinner banquet hosted under the patronage of British Heir Apparent Prince Charles by The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS) in honour of its Middle Eastern graduates marking its bicentennial anniversary. HM King Hamad was welcomed on arrival at the RMAS headquarters by British Chief of the General Staff General Sir Peter Wall and academy commandant Major-General Tim Evans, who thanked HM for the visit. HRH King Hamad then signed the VIP Visitors’ Book and commemorative photos were taken to mark the RMAS bicentennial anniversary. HM the King met British Heir Apparent Prince Charles, on the sidelines of the dinner banquet, and discussed deep-historic relations bonding both countries in all fields. He affirmed Bahrain ‘s constant keenness on promoting bilateral relations for the good of both countries and friendly peoples, hailing the pivotal role of the UK in advocating global security and stability. HM King Hamad also met leading personalites attending the ceremony and exchanged with them cordial talks. He extended thanks and appreciation to the British Government for the invitation which reflects RMAS deep appreciation for students from different Middle Eastern kingdoms. He also hailed deep-rooted historic relations in all fields, stressing particularly defence and military ties. He paid tribute to the prestigious academy for its oustanding role in forming and training officers from all over the world, lauding RMAS programmes, curicula, practical and military applications and training schemes as well as efforts to keep abreast of military sciences. HM the King also credited RMAS graduates from different states in the world for their crucial role in promoting their countries’ progress and prosperity. He expressed his delight at attending the event which represented a good opportunity to meet RMAS graduates.
