Government excellence imperative for quality services

Government excellence has become a pressing need for different authorities to achieve, and is one of the most important indicators that offers a clear vision of the quality of available services and customer satisfaction, according to Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Minister of Infrastructure Development.

Human resources are the main foundation for overall sustainable development, and a major part of the UAE’s Vision 2021 and its national agenda, added Dr. Al Nuaimi.

Dr. Al Nuaimi highlighted an open day, organised by the Ministry of Infrastructure Development and attended by Hassan Al Mansouri, Acting Under-Secretary with the Ministry of Infrastructure Development, other assistant under-secretaries, department managers and employees, as proof of the ministry’s desire to improve the performance of its employees, and to launch initiatives and visions that will enable the achievement of the required level of work system quality.

He also spoke about the importance of working as a team, where individuals are aware of their responsibilities and duties, to achieve positive results that serves the UAE government’s directives and supports its national agenda.

He also highlighted the importance of following work practices based on encouragement as a basis for productivity, and for strengthening innovation in different areas of institutional work.

He called on the ministry’s employees to become exceptional at the workplace, and highlighted the importance of consolidating a work culture that encourages innovation and leadership, to achieve the government’s hopes of striving for first-place in all areas worldwide, and to achieve happiness for the citizens and residents of the UAE. He also encouraged employees to offer their best ideas and suggestions, which should improve the ministry’s working procedures.

Discussions on working systems and related procedures were held during the meeting, as well as on the paths of excellence for governmental performance. Discussions were also held on the allocated roles and duties to excellence teams, and their role in directing work and following up during the next stage, with the goal of raising performance and achieving the desired results, which would lead to customer satisfaction.

The importance of spreading awareness about the principles of excellence, and developing capabilities to drive success and excellence in the Ministry of Infrastructure Development, were also discussed.
