
The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has reiterated its support for the efforts being exerted by Ismail Ould Alsheikh Ahmed, the UN envoy for Yemen to make the Yemeni peace consultations, currently in session in Kuwait, a success.
This came during a meeting of the Kuwaiti acting Premier and Foreign minister Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah with the UN envoy in the presence of the GCC Secretary General Dr. Abdullatif Al Zayani here today.
Earlier, the UN envoy to Yemen was quoted as saying that he met with the Yemeni parties as part of the peace consultations in Kuwait to crystalize a strategic general framework to narrow the gaps between the views of the two parties.
In a statement, he said he also met with the GCC Secretary General to discuss the latest developments of the peace consultation.
