Rafah - WAFA

Israel reopened Sunday Karm Abu Salem (Kerem Shalom) border crossing with Gaza following a four-day closure, according to the head of the Coordinating Committee for the Entry of Goods into the Gaza Strip, Raed Fattouh. The opening of the crossing would allow entry of badly needed products into Gaza, mainly industrial fuel to run its electricity company’s power generator, which stopped functioning two days ago after it ran out of fuel. Gaza farmers will also be able to export eight truckloads of strawberry and tomato to Europe. Fattouh said 330 truckloads of goods, agriculture products and aid supplies, as well as two truckloads of cement and 46 truckloads of gravel intended for UN-implemented projects would be allowed entry. In addition to the industrial fuel intended for the power plant, a limited amount of benzene, diesel and cooking gas would also be allowed entry to the Gaza Strip.
