Foreign Ministry Spokesman Counselor Ahmed Abu Zeid said the Egyptian Embassy in Tripoli, currently operating from Cairo, held intensive contacts with the Libyan presidential council over the past few days to bring home the bodies of the nine Egyptians who were killed in the Libyan city of Beni Walid.
In statements released on Wednesday, Abu Zeid said the bodies will be flown home on board a private plane from Tunisia and its arrival time will be announced upon setting it.
He also said the Egyptian Embassy in Tunisia approved moving the bodies at the state's expense, asserting that the Egyptian government is dealing with all citizens on equal footing and that there is no difference between legal or illegal migrants in offering them necessary consular services.
