Emirates Defence Industries Company (EDIC), the established integrated national defence industries platform, will make its second appearance at this year’s International Defence Exhibition & Conference (IDEX) to be staged from 19th to 23rd February at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.

EDIC, through its strategic partnership with IDEX 2017, will emphasise on its leading role in the nation’s defence industry and highlight its contribution to the latest developments in defence technology.

Through the largest stand in this exhibition, EDIC will feature a total of 12 companies showcasing the latest developments and innovations from the manufacturing, mapping, maintenance, repair and overhaul, communications, logistics, training and technology development sectors.

"EDIC’s stand at IDEX 2017 represents a substantial accomplishment of collaboration to the industry, our country and the region", said Sara Al Shorouqi, spokesperson of EDIC. By collaboration, innovation, and state-of-the-art manufacturing, we are able to further enhance and support the General Headquarters of the UAE Armed Forces and the broader region".

EDIC has come a long way after it was established on December 2, 2014, the UAE’s National Day. Since then the defence industry in the UAE has witnessed significant consolidation due to the leadership’s directives and governance and the enabling environment. As a Strategic Partner at IDEX 2017, EDIC continues to support the UAE’s long-term industry growth and meet the needs of the UAE’s Armed Forces.
