The Egyptian Ambassador to the U.A.E., Ehab Hammoda, has announced that 97.3 per cent of Egyptians in the U.A.E. have backed the constitution in a referendum held at the Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate-General in Dubai. He said in a statement that Egyptians, whether at home or abroad, are resolved to build their country in the light of a civil constitution, noting that the voting for the constitution was calm, as some accompanied their families in a festive mood. The envoy thanked the U.A.E. authorities for making the event a success.
