Cairo - KUNA

Egypt will continue to support the Syrian refugees during their ongoing crisis, said Egyptian Foreign Minister Nabil Fahmi here Wednesday. During his speech to the Second Kuwait Pledging Conference for Syria, Fahmi said that Egypt, despite the economic situation, had hosted around Syrian 300, 000 refugees. Fahmi said that his country would continue to support Syrian refugees until a peaceful solution was reached in Syria. He urged all Syrians involved in the conflict, including Assad regime, to resolve matters peacefully and focus on lessening the suffering of Syrians. There are around 9 million Syrian displaced within Syria and over 2 million scattered in neighboring countries since the crisis began in March 2011. (end) kt.gta KUNA 151410 Jan 14NNNN
