Egypt supports Iraq in fight against Daesh

Egypt supports Iraq in the fight against Daesh and is an advocate of reconciliation among the different Iraqi sects, said Saad el Gammal, an Egyptian MP taking part in the Baghdad dialogue conference, which started here earlier Saturday. 

Gammal congratulated the Iraqi people on completing their constitutional, presidential, executive and legislative institutions, and on endorsing a constitution to protect the Iraqi identity.

Egypt, Gammal said, is willing to contribute to reconstruction efforts in Iraq.

He touched upon a proposal by Iraqi Ambassador in Cairo Habib al Sadr to establish an Egyptian-Iraqi business council.

Economic stability is key to achieving security and political stability, Gammal stressed.
