Egypt is steadily moving toward progress and stability, affirmed Egypt's Mufti Dr Shawki Allam.
The remark was made during his meeting on Wednesday with a high-level French parliamentary delegation under MP Philip Folio, Chief Executive of Alliance of the Centrist coalition and chairman of the Egyptian-French friendship group in the national assembly.
All world countries should cooperate at the various levels in order to confront extremist and terrorist groups, Allam said.
He, meanwhile, said that helping the Muslims minority in Europe in merging with the European society represents an impregnable fortress against extremist groups.
He also pointed out to the efforts which are being exerted in order to confront extremist thought.
The French parliamentary delegation, meanwhile, agreed with the Mufti on the need of international cooperation in order to fight terrorism.
They also hailed efforts exerted by Darul Ifta in confronting extremism and spreading the upright teachings of Islam.
