
Egypt is keen on promoting security and stability in Lebanon and Iraq and all Arab countries, affirmed President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
During his meeting Thursday with Head of Lebanon's Maronite Catholic church Patriarch Beshara Boutros al Rai and Chaldean Catholic Patriarch of Baghdad Louis Raphael Sako, President Sisi welcomed the participation of the two patriarchs in the "Freedom and Citizenship" conference, which was organized by Al Azhar, said Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef.
He, meanwhile, hailed the constructive dialogue held between the participants, added the spokesman.
President Sisi also underlined the importance of promoting tolerance values and the acceptance of the other, said the spokesman.
He further referred to the great role played by clergymen and scholars in confronting extremist thoughts and entrenching moderation values.
The two officials voiced happiness for visiting Egypt and taking part in Al Azhar conference, added the spokesman.
They further pointed out to Egypt's crucial role in the region and efforts to restore Egypt's crucial role in the region.
