Egypt closes Rafah crossing due to elections

Egyptian authorities closed the Rafah crossing on Wednesday as the country voted in the final round of parliamentary elections. The terminal, Gaza's only link to the outside world due to Israel's blockade, will reopen on Thursday morning, an Egyptian official said. Egypt is electing the lower house of parliament in its first national poll since ousting former President Hosni Mubarak in February 2011.
