The Dubai Municipality on Wednesday organised a new initiative called, "Let’s Draw Their Smile" as part of the civic body’s efforts to promote the Year of Giving activities.
The initiative was conducted with the kids from the Spring Nursery, Jumeirah. Wooden racks were arranged for the sale of snacks, and the proceeds from the sale were allocated for the Emirates Red Crescent.
Hussain Nasser Lootah, Director General of Dubai Municipality, stressed that the initiative is in line with the third theme of the Year of Giving, which is inculcating the commitment on service of the homeland among the new generations.
Lootah opened the charity initiative in the presence of the Assistants to the Director General, Department Directors and a number of staff members. Lootah went around the food racks and interacted with the nursery kids, who were selling snacks as part of the initiative. The kids from the Municipality Nursery also joined the activities by drawing pictures to display their creativity and artistic talents.
He said that with the new initiative, the Municipality is striving to create the commitment to charity among the future generations. "We have hosted this initiative to send a message to the community that charity stays with the future generations, who are an integral part of the social responsibility of Dubai Municipality," he said.
