Court resumes Saturday trial of 23 Brothers

A Cairo misdemeanor court resumes on Saturday the trial of 23 Muslim Brotherhood members who have been accused of protesting without a police permit and terrifying people. The court is expected to hear testimonies of eyewitnesses after the 23 pleaded not guilty in the previous hearing. The new protest law requires protest organizers to obtain prior permission from the police. It imposes fines for protests held without advance notification. They also have been accused of inciting violence during their protest in Shobra, northern Cairo.
