Fujairah Ruler
Fujairah - Arab Today

H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, has said that Commemoration Day, marked on the 30th of November, represents an occasion to remind the UAE people that nations are not built without sacrifice, and that the Emirati heroes who sacrificed their lives to keep the homeland safe, deserve our appreciation, admiration and reverence.

Sheikh Hamad added that the participation of the UAE forces with the Arab coalition led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is yet another confirmation that the people of the UAE will not hesitate to protect their national security, nor refrain from rescuing their brothers who ask them for help, stressing that the honourable performance of the UAE troops in brotherly Yemen, was and still is the focus of everyone's appreciation and admiration for the efficiency of our army, and the martyrdom of our heroes is evidence of their courage.

In a speech to Dira’a Al Watan, The Nation Shield, magazine, H.H. Sheikh Hamad said, "The UAE's marking of the Commemoration Day on the 30th of November, two days before our National Day, represents an occasion to remind us that nations are not built without sacrifice, and that the Emirati heroes who sacrificed their lives to keep our homeland safe deserve our appreciation, admiration and reverence.

Sheikh Hamad added, "This blessed day has become a national event to honour the martyrs of the nation and to reminisce about their heroism, sacrifice, dedication and loyalty to their country and the wise leadership.

"The participation of our forces with the Arab coalition led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is yet another confirmation that the people of the UAE who were raised in the footsteps of the late Sheikh Zayed will not hesitate to protect their national security, nor refrain from rescuing their brothers who ask them for help. The honourable performance of our troops in brotherly Yemen, was and still is the focus of everyone's appreciation and admiration for the efficiency of our army, and the martyrdom of our heroes is evidence of their courage.

"Our forces in Yemen have performed their duty to the fullest. They have been exemplary in every way. Other people of the UAE have been no less heroic as we have seen them support the families of the martyrs and their children, alleviating their grief. They rushed to participate in official and national campaigns that were launched to take care of them. These responses warmed our hearts as it was a sign of the unity of our people and their loyalty to the leadership and the homeland."

"Commemoration Day is a time to honour the loyal men who sacrificed their lives in order to keep the UAE flag flying high, we will continue to owe them thanks for their heroism and courage, we will always remember them as our schools and our streets are adorned with their names. Also they will be remembered at the Martyr's Memorial, which has been established in the capital, Abu Dhabi, to be a beacon for generations, to remind us of the highest meanings of heroism and sacrifice for the sake of the homeland, and to honour our heroes who have sacrificed their lives in defence of their homeland. God bless our martyr sons, and save our sons stationed on the battlefronts and return them safely to us."
