
Officers of Cairo investigation department managed to seize five machine guns and shotguns alongside four Russian and locally made pistols before being sold to dangerous criminal elements.
Acting on a tip that an Assiut man was trading in weapons in Cairo's Qasr el Nile police station district, police took all needed measures to bust the 46-year-old jobless man.
The man was arrested in Downtown Cairo with guns, pistols, bullets and cell phones found on him.
During initial investigations, he admitted that he was trading in weapons and cell phones.
Also, efforts are underway to round up a driver of a car found full of weapons and bullets.
The driver managed to flee when police tried to arrest him.
