The cabinet is not willing to withdraw its decision to switch clocks for daylight saving time, a cabinet official said.
In April, the government announced that the daylight savings time would be postponed and would return as of July 7 till the end of October.
The parliament under Ali Abdel Aal approved on Tuesday a bill to cancel daylight saving time.
According to the official, the cabinet has reservations on calls to cancel the decision as it will cause many financial damage.
The government's reservations would be put up for discussion at the parliament after the State Council's review, the source said, adding that the parliament will decide on the matter on Sunday.
Egypt first adopted daylight saving time in 1988 as a way to reduce electricity consumption, but in April 2011 the cabinet endorsed a decree to cancel changing clocks in summer.
Standard time in Egypt is GMT + 2, and GMT + 3 during daylight saving time.
