
His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa chaired today a high-profile meeting to follow up on implementation of the National Assembly’s recommendations. He directed to continue enforcing laws to tackle violence and terrorism decisively and track down the instigators without encroaching on basic freedoms, including mainly freedom of expression, which is guaranteed by the constitution, and while protecting human rights. Concerning those who are undermining the supreme interests of Bahrain by colluding with other parties, HRH the Prime Minister affirmed that the Bahraini citizenship is a right and honour for anyone who holds it. Therefore, he/she has to be up to this responsibility and honour by working on maintaining civic peace and security and protecting the national interests, unity and stability. HRH hailed the efforts made to curb misuse of the social networking systems aimed at jeopardising national unity and propagating false information for foreign sides that want to destabilise the country. He emphasise that national dialogue is the optimum way to tackle all issues, stressing the government’s support to all efforts made to encourage it. He also underscored the need to condemn and reject explicitly all forms of violence and terrorism to provide a favourable climate for the dialogue. HRH the Premier underscored the importance of protecting people’s interests and preventing any disruption of their daily life mainly in vital areas. He directed to take the necessary procedures to impose financial regulations so as to dry up sources of funding terrorism by enforcing recent laws and regulations.
