
Following directives from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ghanim bin Fadhl Al-Bouainain today attended the closing ceremony of the national dialogue conference in Yemen.Ministers representing Arab and friendly countries attended the event in Sanaa, along with GCC, Arab League and UN officials. Mr. Al-Bouainain delivered a letter of congratulations from HM the King to Yemeni President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi on the success of the national dialogue conference in his country.In the letter, HM the King paid tribute to the GCC leaders for the pivotal role they played and the initiative they advocated. He commended the GCC foreign ministers for their efforts to promote the initiative which contributed to pushing the national dialogue forward, yielding good results for all parties in Yemen.He also lauded GCC Secretary-General Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani for his crucial role constant coordination with UN Secretary-General's Envoy Jamal bin Omar.The minister hailed all efforts aimed at cementing Yemen's national unity, consolidating democratic rule and promoting human rights and development. "These efforts played a crucial role in reaching the National Dialogue Conference final document, which endorsed the federal state and extended the tenure of Mr. Hadi as transitional president for one year", he said.He described the achievement as a landmark victory for Yemeni people and its project of peaceful change which started over two years ago. He called upon all Yemenis to support the results yielded by the National Dialogue Conference and implement its recommendations, stressing the need to heed their country's national interests, renounce violence and stave off any foreign interference in their internal affairs.He paid tribute to President Hadi for his statesmanship and wisdom in dealing all with all issues which faced the Yemenis, reiterating Bahrain's keenness on Yemen's stability and development.The minister also commended the efforts of the UN and the GCC member states, hailing their role particularly in advocating the GCC initiative which was signed over two years ago in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He stressed the importance of the roadmap which spared Yemenis a lot of problems, reiterating the GCC unwavering support to overcome all challenges hampering its development and progress.
