Palestinian Awqaf Minister Yousef Adeis called for holding the coming conference of the Supreme Islamic Affairs Council in East Jerusalem.

Speaking to MENA on Wednesday on the fringe of the council's conference in Aswan, he said the action would tangibly back the Palestinians and support protecting Aqsa Mosque.

He urged Arab and Islamic states as well as the international community and human rights organizations to shoulder their responsibility toward East Jerusalem and Aqsa Mosque and press Israel to halt settlement activities and intransigent measures against the the Palestinians.
