Minister of Civil Aviation Sherif Fathi thanked the crew of EgyptAir flight 181 which was hijacked this morning and diverted to Cyprus.

In a statement Tuesday, he appreciated the professional way the crew members dealt with the situation during the hijacking.

He pointed out that international and domestic flights were smoothly organized despite some slight delays due to the tight security measures.

EgyptAir had provided hotlines for the families of passengers to inquire after relatives. The hotlines are 08007777000 inside Egypt and 20225989320-29 outside Egypt.
