
The Kuwaiti parliamentary caucus presented a draft resolution to the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) for building Asian professional skills and capabilities through setting up a centre for vocational and technical training.
Following a meeting of APA's standing economic and sustainable development committee, Kuwaiti MP Waleed Al-Tabtabaei, treasurer of the caucus, said in a press statement Wednesday that the draft would be discussed during the next meeting, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported.
Another Kuwaiti MP Khalil Abdullah urged countries to support establishing the centre as it will have a key role in training people in Asia and enhancing their potentials. He stressed the need of encouraging parliaments to take serious steps in order to achieve this goal
The two-day committee meeting discussed various topics including combating poverty, backing implementation of sustainable development goals and other topics, according to KUNA.
