
The Arbitration Panel for HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Weekly Award for the Best Campsite conducted its fifth round of tours to participating camps. The Southern Governorate’s Governor Faisal bin Rashid Al-Nuaimi awarded the HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Award for the Best Campsite to the camp of citizen Ali Al-Madhaka who won the prize for compliance with all conditions and standards specified by the High Organizing Committee for the Camping Season. The arbitration panel includes representatives from the Office of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Campers’ Services Centre, Southern Area Municipality, the Directorate of the Southern Governorate, the General Directorate of Traffic, Civil Defence, National Guard, Ministry of Health and one of the companies operating in the Bahrain oilfield and the Executive Commission for the Environment. The panel visited the campsites and checked them according to the approved form, comprising 20 questions aimed to find out the extent of compliance with camping terms and conditions aimed to increase campers awareness to ensure their safety and security and taking all prescribed measures for this purpose as well as wildlife and environmental conservation. The award encourages campers to comply with all measures and standards. Camps should be registered and satisfy all conditions. The organizing committee announced that the door was still open for all interested campers to participate in the contest after registering the names of their respective camps at the Campers Services Centre. The High Organizing Committee has specified BD 1000 prize for the winner each week and also BD 500 for 6 next best camps to be honoured by the end of the camping season . (IY)
