The 36th session of the Arab Social Affairs Ministers Council began here on Thursday under the chairmanship of Tunisia.
The meeting began by observing one minute of silence in mourning of victims of the terrorist attack on Boutroseya Church on Sunday that left 25 Copts dead and 49 wounded.
Addressing the session, Tunisian Social Affairs Minister Mohamed Tarabulsi said this session will discuss a number of issues, foremost among which is setting the scene for the 28th session of the Arab summit to take place in March.
Fighting poverty and taking more care of disabled persons are among the agenda issues.
Egyptian Social Solidarity Minister Ghada Wali, on her part, hoped the session will come out with new suggestions to fight terrorism.
