
The Arab League (AL) and Al Azhar agreed about boosting cooperation to combat Islamophobia and extremist ideologies.
This will be implemented via symposiums and workshops to get people acquainted with the true image of Islam and its moderate teachings.
These remarks came during the meeting held by the AL's cultures' dialogue department and a delegation representing Al Azhar.
In statements on Sunday, the Minister Plenipotentiary and Head of the department Samia Beberus underlined the importance of the get-together that comes at a time the western communities witness increasing violence rates against the Arabs and Muslims especially after the terrorist incidents that took place in Paris and Brussels.
She further said that a cooperation protocol is studied to be inked between the AL and Al Azhar.
