Algerian army kills another militant in combing operation

Algerian army said Sunday that another militant was killed in the upper hills of the provinces of Boumerdes and Tizi Ouzou east of Algiers. "Following the combing of the region, a second militant was killed on Saturday, while his riffle and three bombs were recouped, " said a statement of the defense ministry, quoted by APS news agency. The source said the army killed a militant a week ago during a operation in the woods of Sidi Ali Bounab in the provinces of Boumerdes and Tizi Ouzou. Some militants affiliated to al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb are still taking refuge in the woods in three adjacent provinces of Boumerdes, Tizi Ouzou and Bouira.
