
Algerian Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra confirmed on Saturday his country's participation in the international conference dubbed Geneva 2, which is scheduled to be held on Janurary 22nd to discuss a solution to the Syrian crisis. In a press conference, Lamamra said that Algeria has received an invitation and decided to participate in Geneva 2 based on a decision made by President Abdelaziz Bouteflika as a sign of support to all peaceful solutions. The minister stressed that Algeria would spare no effort to reach a peaceful solution to the crisis between all parties involved in Syria, believing that it would be a significant meeting. The Algerian Foreign Minister renewed his country's unconditional support for efforts exerted by UN-Arab League envoy Lakhdar Brahimi in order to find a solution to the crisis in Syria. Meanwhile, Algerian Minister of Communication Abdulqader Messahel said during the same press conference that Algerian Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal will start a visit to Libya tomorrow.
