Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr, Speaker of Federal National Council (FNC) affirmed that the historic relation between the UAE and Egypt is a role model for the Arab relations. He pointed out that the relations were established by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and being sustained by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Al Murr made the remarks when he received the Egyptian Popular delegation on Monday at the FNC headquarters in the presence of a number of FNC members and Dr. Mohammed Salem Al Mazrouei, Secretary General of the FNC. "We welcome you in the UAE and in your second country. This visit embodies the strong relations between our two countries," he said, stressing that the UAE would never cease to support the will, and aspiration of the Egyptian people for democracy, economic and political development. He underscored that Egypt is the cornerstone for stability and security in the region. Al Murr added that "The late Sheikh Zayed had supported Egypt in all circumstances and crises" adding that" No one forgets his famous words " No presence for the Arab nation without Egypt and Egypt cannot be without the Arab nations". He added that the UAE prudent leadership is following the legacy of Zayed to further enhance the Egyptian-Emirati relations. He recalled the Egyptian-Emirati relation that dates back to 1971, which saw the establishment of UAE Union, pointing out that Egypt was among the first countries to recognise the Union and supported it internationally and regionally, as a cornerstone of security and stability in the region. For their part, the Egyptian delegation members expressed their appreciation to the UAE stances under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, stressing that the UAE represents a model for the true Arab-Arab relations.
