The Egyptian Embassy in Cameron's capital Yaounde announced late Monday the results of the Egyptians' voting on Egypt's new charter. In statements to MENA correspondent in Abuja, Egypt's Ambassador in Yaounde Sherif El-Leithy said the counting of votes showed that 83 percent of the votes approved the newly drafted charter. He said the number of those who approved the constitution reached 10, while two refused it and only one vote was invalid. Leithy said the weak turnout of Egyptians registered to vote is because most of the Egyptian nationals are living in remote regions far from their balloting station at the embassy in Yaounde.
