The second meeting of the consultative council of the High Dam was held under Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Mohamed Abdel Aati.

The get-together was attended by the leaders of the Water Resources Ministry, representatives of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority, General Authority for Roads, Bridges and Land Transport, the Egyptian Meteorological Authority and professors of the Egyptian universities as well as research centers.

The meeting took up number of issues topped by the ventures needed to be implemented to raise the efficiency of the High Dam and Aswan Reservoir.

The get-together resulted in some recommendations such as using modern technologies in monitoring and operating the High Dam and Aswan Reservoir and establishing a bridge on the Nile River in Aswan governorate behind the reservoir.

The traffic movement will be transferred from above the reservoir to the new bridge after its inauguration in 2020.

The recommendations stressed also the importance of establishing technical cadres needed for maintaining and operating the dams as well as training a new generation of specialized technicians.
