
A total of 2119 Syrian refugees have entered Jordan in the past 24 hours. Director of the Department of the Syrian refugee camps in Jordan Brigadier Dr. Wadah Al-Hamoud said in a press statement here on Friday that border guards transferred the refugees to the Zaatari camp and other shelters after providing them with the necessary requirements, adding that no voluntary returns to Syria were recorded. Brigadier Dr. Wadah Al-Hamoud confirmed the influx of big number of syrian refugees into Jordan in view of the escalating military confrontations especialluy near the Jordanian border. For his part, Prime Minister of Jordan Abdullah Ensour announced earlier Saturday that the number of Syrian refugees in his country had exceeded half a million refugees since the Syrian crisis began.
