
Twenty one militants belonging to the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) or Daash were killed in car bomb explosion south of Tikrit in northern Iraq.The semi-official Al Iraqiya channel said the militants were killed as a result of a mistake in preparing the bomb while bidding farewell to the suicide bomber assigned to carry out the operation at Al Jalam area in the city of Samira. Meanwhile commander of the 12th brigade of the Iraqi army’s 12th division escaped an assassination attempt today. An official source said in a statement that an explosive charge went off near Al Mashrou checkpoint, south of Kirkuk, adding that the bomb targeted Brigadier Mohamed Al Shummari.
