12,000 students benefit from police's anti-drugs campaign
The campaign focused on the risks and harmful effects of drugs.

More than 12,000 students benefited from a year-long awareness lecture series on drugs conducted by the Abu Dhabi Police. As part of the police's anti-drug education efforts, they organised lectures at five shopping centres across the UAE Capital.
The campaign focused on the risks and harmful effects of drugs.
Lieutenant-Colonel Mohammed Saeed Al Mansouri, director of awareness at the anti-narcotics department, said protecting and safeguarding the community is a priority for the police.
He noted that in addition to educating students, the campaign also included a mobile bus campaign. More than 1,600 people, including parents and teachers, benefitted from the campaign.
Lt-Col Al Mansouri said it was vital to continue promoting the "positive cultures and values of the UAE". He advised parents to keep an eye on their children, and to be aware of any signs in change of behaviour. He urged parents to communicate with their children about the dangers of substance abuse.
The police have also launched various initiatives to raise awareness through their social media platforms, including Instagram.
