Arsène Wenger insists Arsenal’s youngsters will be out to win the NextGen Series - but says the experience of playing in it remains paramount. The Club’s participation was confirmed on Wednesday and will see Arsenal’s rising stars compete in the elite European youth competition from August onwards. Wenger believes the Series will provide his young hopefuls with the chance to compete against the very best, along with a vaulable insight into European competition. “We want to be confronted with the best players in Europe to see where we stand, give them a good experience and get them used to playing different football as well,” the Frenchman told Arsenal Player. “It will give them a different culture and will get them used to playing in Europe, that is the target of the Club. “We will try to win but still we will try to get them that needed experience. You can get confidence as well because you can play and see that you are as good a player from Real Madrid at 16 or 17 years of age. That is important for your confidence.”
