Berlin - Arabstoday
Hamburg coach Thorsten Fink accused his side of learning little from the last few weeks after they were beaten 4-0 at Hoffenheim last night, remaining in serious relegation danger as a result. A 1-1 draw with Bayer Leverkusen last weekend seemed to be a much-needed sign of life from the northern Germany side, but Fink lamented 80 minutes of amnesia that added to their worries. "This is a setback since we had shown recently that we knew what we needed to do in a relegation battle," he said. "We forgot all about that after a decent first ten minutes, that was too little. This was not a relegation fight and we even deserved to lose by such a margin." Hamburg now find themselves just two points above the Bundesliga bottom three with four games of the season remaining, and their unblemished record of permanent top-flight football is still under threat. "Life goes on," said Fink on the club's website. "We have the next very important game on Saturday and we definitely want to and will present ourselves better in that game." Hamburg host Hannover at the weekend in a northern Germany derby, with one side fighting for their lives and the other pushing for a place in Europe next season.
