London - Arabstoday
Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has insisted his squad must not let bad refereeing decisions affect them as they enter a crucial stage of the season. The Reds are hoping to arrest a slump in form when they meet Blackburn at Ewood Park on Tuesday night before facing local rivals Everton in an FA Cup semi-final at the weekend. And the Scot revealed a sense of frustration amongst his players at the perceived injustice of several recent refereeing decisions. He told the Mirror: “The last three games blatant decisions have gone against us that are inexcusable. “It would be helpful and more transparent if officials told us; if they explained the decision to us or even if they just held their hands up and said ‘sorry, I got that wrong’ and we could see they have integrity. But they never say anything. “We don’t everything right so it is understandable that they don’t either, but a bit of respect towards us would help the situation.” Liverpool have won just once in their last nine league games and Dalglish believes his squad must shrug off any controversial decisions to turn things around. He continued: “People might think there is a conspiracy. We can’t believe that, we can’t let it affect us and take it into the games coming up because that would damage us. We have to keep going and make sure it doesn’t affect the players.” The Reds currently sit eighth in the league, four points behind Everton with a game in hand but have secured Europa League qualification through lifting the League Cup in February.
