Ayew: I will not be happy if PSG win the title

The Ghana international has insisted that his team will go all out to beat Montpellier amid suggestions that they could lose to scupper rivals Paris Saint-Germain's title bid.Marseille attacker Andre Ayew has admitted that he does not relish the prospect of seeing Paris Saint-Germain become Ligue 1 champions, but assured that his side will go out to beat league leaders Montpellier on Wednesday.Montpellier are level on 63 points with PSG at the top of the league standings, although Rene Girard's side can move three points clear if they win their game in hand at Marseille.And Ayew has quashed suggestions from some sections that Didier Deschamps' men could intentionally lose Wednesday's clash to hinder bitter rivals PSG's title bid.Some Marseille supporter groups have called for the team to throw the towel as payback for the 1999 title race, when PSG's 3-2 defeat to Bordeaux in the final round of matches denied OM the championship."I understand that the fans do not want PSG to be champions. As a Marseille player, I will not be happy if PSG become champions," Ayew was quoted as saying by RMC Sport."But we will remain professional. When we step out onto the pitch, we will do everything to win."We all know what happened in 1999, we will not repeat history," he assured.Marseille are currently languishing in ninth in the Ligue 1 standings, having lost six of their last nine league matches, including a 2-1 reverse to PSG last Sunday.
