Andrea Agnelli last night reflected on the club’s Scudetto achievement at his first official public engagement since Sunday’s win in Trieste. The President addressed a large group of youngsters from the Sermig centre in Turin - the Arsenal of Peace established by Ernesto Olivero – at an event organised by the Università del Dialogo. He took the opportunity to speak about the world of work and the many experiences undertaken which have led him to his current role of businessman and club president. But the evening would not have been complete without acknowledging the magnificent feat achieved by his beloved Juventus. Agnelli began: “The Scudetto was our first objective when we started this adventure two years ago. We’ve now managed to fulfil this dream which was unexpected at the start of the season.” The club, team and fans: all united for one single aim. Juventus have returned to winning ways, to the delight of millions of supporters across the globe. “Football needs to make people dream, even in this period of crisis. “I was at home on Sunday night and saw how many took to the piazzas to celebrate our victory. We’re happy to have brought a smile to their faces after a year of work.” The title success, however, will not alter the philosophy championed by the Agnelli revolution. Winning is to be celebrated, but thoughts will now immediately turn to the game against Atalanta, the Coppa Italia final and forward planning for next season. “Juventus exists to win and we work seven days a week in order to achieve this. “We started out following two seventh-place finishes, and with one game remaining we have the best defence, we’re unbeaten and above all the champions of Italy. “We’ve gone beyond all expectations because we chose the right people who have enabled us to reach a dream.”
