Sanaa - Arab Today

At least 70 Houthi militants and fighters of former Yemeni president Ali Abdullah Saleh were killed while dozens injured in air raids launched by Saudi-led Arab coalition in several provinces in Yemen, according to Yemeni sources.

As many as 19 Houthi militants and forces loyal to Saleh were killed by the national army and popular resistance in the various fronts, sources said, according to Al Arabiya News Channel.

Sources also said that the Saudi-led Arab coalition launched raids which targeted Houthi militants and forces loyal to Saleh in Taiz.

The popular resistance also managed to kill two snipers of the militants centered in east of Yemen, according to the sources.

The Houthis began their advance in September 2014, sweeping into the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, and taking over government ministries and other areas.

They held top officials, including Hadi, under house arrest until Hadi fled, first to the southern port city of Aden, then to Saudi Arabia.
