Tehran - FNA
Eight Afghan local police (ALP) forces were killed in a roadside bombing in central Logar province, an official said. The incident took place at 11p.m. when an ALP vehicle struck a roadside bomb in the Seri Sang area on the outskirts of Pul-i-Alam, the provincial capital of Logar. Deputy Police Chief Col. Raees Khan Sadiq told Pajhwok Afghan News that the ALP launched an operation in the area, but no one has been arrested so far in connection with the blast. The heavy explosion destroyed the ALP vehicle and caused several casualties, a resident of the village, Azizullah said. Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid claimed responsibility for the bomb attack, saying seven local police forces were killed in the blast and several others wounded.
