Ahmad Dawabsheh
Nablus - Arab Today

The Israeli minister of Army, Avigdor Lieberman on Sunday stated that Ahmad Dawabsheh, whose

in Duma  near Nablus was arsoned by Israeli settlers, killing three of his family members two years ago, is ineligible for compensation from the state.

Lieberman’s statements came during  an official correspondence on the issue to Arab MK, Yousef Jabareen, where Lieberman responded by saying that the six-year-old does not qualify to be considered a “terror victim” and will therefore not receive compensation.

The current law stipulates that the state must compensate Israeli citizens affected by terrorism, but does not apply to Palestinians “who are not citizens or residents of Israel,” Liberman writes.

“We have not found in our records a specific request [to receive compensation despite not being considered a terror victim],” the letter adds.

Ahmad Dawabsheh’s mother, father and 18 month old brother, Ali Dawabsheh, were all killed in the attack, when Israeli settlers threw molotov cocktails into the house during the night on 30 July 2015
