Islamabad - Irna

Senior Pakistani journalist Rahimullah Yusufzai on Friday said that US policies after the event of 9/11 have made the world more insecure and unstable. Speaking to IRNA, he said that terrorism has been increased in the world because of wrong US strategies. The journalist said the events that transpired after 9/11 in Afghanistan worsened the security environment in the region. He said that Iran has rightly demanded for the independent investigation of the attacks to identify the elements involved in the attack. “It is not justified to blame Muslims without any evidence”, he pointed out. Rahimullah Yusufzai said that after 9/11 US has ruined many Muslims states without any proper evidence. “The attacks were carried out against Muslim countries based on the investigation by US officials”, he said. He opined that these were biased investigations. The journalist said that US has to change its policy in fighting militancy. “Now the world is more insecure and unstable”, he viewed. “Peace cannot be restored in the world unless US changes its policies”, said Rahimullah Yusufzai. He said that so called war against terror has actually become a war to spread terrorism. “This is not the way to fight terrorism as it had given birth to more terrorists”, he said. He said that ten years have been passed to the 9/11 incident and still ‘we don’t know who was behind these attacks’. The analyst was of the view that US has damaged the peace of the whole world after the incident. “They have given themselves a right to attack any country without any evidence”, he said. Rahimullah Yusufzai viewed that US wants to control the whole world which is unrealistic. He added that the world opinion has also been changed against the 9/11 attacks. Rahimullah Yusufzai is the Resident/Executive Editor of the Jang group's “The NEWS international' at Peshawar Bureau. He is one of the few bona fide experts on Afghanistan, having reported on the country since the 1980s.
