The US Embassy in the Kingdom is leading 140 Saudi private sector representatives to the 2017 Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) in Houston, Texas on Monday.
Founded in 1969, the OTC is the world’s largest oil and gas industry conference, where energy professionals exchange ideas to advance scientific and technical solutions in the field.
Every year, the OTC provides access to technological advances, cutting-edge equipment and expert resources from around the world, while bringing together industry leaders, investors and entrepreneurs to explore and develop markets and partnerships.
US Commercial Counselor Nasir Abbasi will lead the Saudi delegation and be assisted by expert US Department of Commerce trade specialists throughout the four-day event.
US Consul General in Dhahran Mike Hankey and the embassy’s Energy Officer Mike Carver will facilitate connections between Saudi and US companies with operations in Eastern Province.
Saudi Aramco will send a 35-person delegation to the OTC and make a presentation on current and upcoming commercial opportunities in the Kingdom.
The US Commercial Service routinely facilitates trade and business links between the US and Saudi Arabia via two-way, mutually beneficial trade missions.
In the last year, it has led Saudi trade missions to US exhibitions and conferences on mining (September 2016), water and the environment (September 2016), power generation (December 2016), and power distribution and transmission (February 2017).
During the same period, the Commercial Service facilitated US trade missions to Saudi Arabia, focused on themes aligned with the priorities of Vision 2030, including the Health Technologies and Training Trade Mission to Riyadh and Jeddah (April 2016), the Safety and Security Trade Mission to Riyadh and Dhahran (November 2016), and the Vocational and Technical Training Trade Mission to Dhahran (February 2017).
