U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday vowed to appeal the ruling made by a federal appeals court to uphold a halt on his anti-immigration executive order.

"See you in court, the security of our nation is at stake," Trump tweeted in all block letters shortly after the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco made its ruling.

According to legal experts, the federal government can either take the case to the supreme court, or ask a panel of 11 judges from the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals to review the case. The Thursday's ruling was made by three judges.

Trump signed an executive order on Jan. 27 banning the entry of all immigrants for 120 days, the entry of citizens form seven Middle Eastern countries for 90 days and the entry of Syrian refugees indefinitely.

A district federal court in Seattle issued an restraining order on Friday after hearing from the states of Washington and Minnesota, which said the immigration ban has caused irreversible damages.

The Department of Justice appealed to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals for a second hearing.
