
UK Prime Minister Theresa May said the Westminster attacker was British-born and known to the police and intelligence services.May revealed that he was investigated some years ago over violent extremism, but was "peripheral" and was not part of the current intelligence picture, BBC reported.
May described the incident as an attack on democracy, freedom of speech, human rights and the Rule of Law, adding that she will later meet security officials and that the current terrorist threat level remains the same.For his part, UK Defense Secretary Michael Fallon said security at Parliament will be reviewed and it will be decided whether all police forces should be armed.
The Police arrested eight suspects after raiding overnight six addresses in London and Birmingham in connection with London attack.
