President Omar al-Bashir
Khartoum - ArabToday

Sudan's President Omar al-Bashir affirmed on continuing the dialogue with the US administration to reach the full normalization of relations between the two countries, adding that his government had made significant progress in all the binary files.
Al-Bashir told editors of the Sudanese newspapers on Wednesday that the American officials have reached conviction that Sudan does not threaten US interests and that the decision to lift economic sanctions has been done with the compatibility between the previous and current administrations, adding that these sanctions are legally supposed to be lifted in July.
The Sudanese President further added that his country is currently thinking about the rest of the files topped by removing the name of Sudan from the terrorism list, pointing out that before the events of September 11th, 2001, the US intelligence (CIA) submitted its report that Sudan does not support terrorism and is still continuing its stand in the annual reports.
Al-Bashir referred to the current Sudan's stand within the United States, confirming his country's ability to overcome terrorism and debt. He added that Sudan had got promises from Western countries, particularly Britain, to help in the debt profile, stressing that matters will go in the right way with the new US administration.
