Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Thursday affirmed Egypt’s keenness to offer all needed assistance to landlocked Chad.
President Sisi said his Chadian counterpart Idriss Deby told him during their talks that new ideas were needed to overcome major problems and challenges.
At a joint press conference with Deby, Sisi said Cairo and N’Djamena are committed to find real solutions to facilitate movement between both countries.
President Sisi praised Deby’s pro-African efforts as part of the Community of Sahel-Saharan States, Africa’s second largest forum after the African Union, despite the serious challenges facing the north-central African country as well as its peacekeeping and terrorism-combat sacrifices in the Sahel region.
Terrorism needs a comprehensive plan that takes into account cultural factors besides the military and security ones, Sisi said.
