Russian Consul in Alexandria Rashid Sadikov underlined profound Egyptian-Russian relations and said his country seeks to expand relations with Egypt in the various fields.
In statements to MENA on Sunday, Sadikov asserted that historical relations between the two countries are deeply-rooted.
The resumption of Russian flights to Egypt is a matter of time, he said, adding that bilateral talks in this regard are almost over.
Tourist companies in Egypt are not the only ones affected by the suspension of Russian flights but also Russian tourist companies are suffering.
Thousands of Russians are working in the field of tourism with Egypt and they are pressuring the Russian government to resume flights to Egypt.
He referred to the inauguration of the Russian consulate in Hurghada, saying it is a step to encourage tourism in Egypt.
