
The Government of the State of Qatar and the Government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines on Monday signed a joint statement on the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The joint statement was signed for Qatar by HE the State Minister for Foreign Affairs Soltan bin Saad Al Muraikhi and for the Government Saint Vincent and the Grenadines by its Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves.
The signing of the joint statement comes within the desire of the Government of the State of Qatar and the Government Saint Vincent and the Grenadines to strengthen and develop friendship and cooperation between their two countries in political, economic, trade, scientific, technological and cultural fields, as well as to establish bilateral relations in accordance with the principles of the UN Charter and the international law provisions.
The two countries agreed to establish diplomatic ties at the ambassadorial level in accordance with the provisions of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 18 April 1961, with effect from the date of signing of this joint statement.
