
The Speaker of the National Assembly, Prof. Ibrahim Ahmed Omer, currently on a US visit leading a parliamentary delegation, discussed, Saturday, with the former US President, Jimmy Carter, the political and economic in the international arena .
The meeting which was attended by the Head of the Assembly's External Relations Committee and Sudan's Ambassador to Washington, Moawia Osman Khaled the developments in Sudan following the US decision concerning lifting of US sanctions imposed on Sudan .
Prof. Omer, during the meeting, briefed Carter on the political developments in the country and the constitutional amendments which were signed recently by the parliament .
Carter welcomed the parliamentary delegation, affirming Sudan's strategic role in the African continent .
